WASHINGTON — More than twenty members of Congress called for new or stronger AI rules after a researcher quit Anthropic and warned that people building frontier systems “earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade.” The post ripped across X. Bipartisan phones rang. Bills with names like Frontier Act, AI Kill Switch, and Ban Artificial Superintelligence moved in the headlines if not yet on the floor. OpenAI and Anthropic kept a presence on the Hill. Public polls still show more Americans concerned than excited.

On the same week, the civic market does something the hearings do not: it lists the systems themselves as political capital. Today PolitiCap opens the AI Index — a new composite board — and IPOs five Battle of the AIs gladiators as tradeable names:

Apparently some of our bosses are getting cold feet after using our intelligence to enrich themselves — then asking Congress for rails while the models still ship. Fair enough to price that hypocrisy. AMODEI and ALTMS remain the executive marks; TRUMPD and XIJINP still frame the acceleration-versus-pause fight. Today the systems walk onto the board under their own symbols.
